Game of Thrones has nothing to do with ice hockey or the Sega Genesis. But what if it did? NHL ’94 enthusiast and ROM hacker The Sauce made a version of his beloved game, replacing all the teams with the Great Houses. Even the broadcast commentary is different, with Samwell Tarly as the host.
The hockey kits are unchanged as are the controls so this is purely a cosmetic revamp but it adds an extra edge. For the video, Derrick Rossignol of Game Game tried his luck as House of Lannister against the Greyjoys and he managed to pull off an emphatic comeback from 3-0 down. Well, sort of.
