Knxwledge’s VGM series has been an amazing showcase of video game music samples and YouTuber goose88 has compiled some of them into videos, along with samples featured in other projects. You’ll notice that each one is part of a 4-part series but there hasn’t been a part 4 yet and the last uploaded video was 2 years ago.
In the meantime, you can take a deep dive into the videos below (quite literally since the first sample in the first video is from Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future).
Update: sadly, they got taken down by Knxwledge and while he’d requested it in the comments previously, I’m sad to see it go for the inspiration aspect rather than “sample snitching”.
