A list of relaxing Game Boy Color games

cover for Hamtaro: Ham-Hams Unite! featuring Hamtaro

Up next in my relaxing games series is Game Boy Color. The handheld came out in Japan in October 1998 and a month later in North America, Europe, and Australia. It was the next evolution of the original Game Boy with its 15-bit colour palette and vast array of games. But today I want to look at some of the most relaxing ones in its catalogue so if you’re on the look out for some chill GBC games, you’ve come to the right place.

The list

Games marked with an asterisk (*) are Japan exclusives. The main criteria for these games is a mix of chill music/aesthetics, lower pressure, lower stakes gameplay, and lower complexity. This is also not an exhaustive list so you’re welcome to suggest some games in the comments!
