f4mi made music music using a DS, and then played it on a Floppy Disk boombox

When f4mi publishes a video, you have to expect some unique tech that wouldn’t have crossed your mind until then. One of her latest videos keeps up that tradition with the KORG M01D, a music workstation based on the KORG M1 for the Nintendo DS. It’s a cartridge I’ve heard about before and seen on the internet a few times but never experienced so seeing it in all its glory here was super interesting.

But f4mi took it beyond just making little synth jingles and managed to get the audio into a digital audio workstation (Ableton in this case) and then to a floppy disk so she could play it in a Roland MT-80S. Wow. No notes (and no pun intended although technically it’s true because it uses MIDI which has note information rather than audible notes… sorry, I’ve killed the joke).
