If I had to vote for my favourite speedrun of this year’s SGDQ, it’d be this Nestani’s run of Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. He completed the game in 1:14:44 with an array of glitches which were cool to see but… it was so Black and I loved that so much. Fellow speedrunner Vanessa aka PleasantlyTwstd was sat on the couch asking questions and providing colour commentary and between them, they had a blast and shared that with everyone else.
Black gamers are plentiful and everywhere but don’t get the spotlight they deserve so it was nice to see two being Black AF with an awesome Game Boy Advance game (Nestani actually has the 3rd fastest time for this game on the Ephraim Route).
