If you were one of the many people who bought Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Xbox One on Nov. 11, chances are you may have run into some pretty serious bugs in the online multiplayer side of things.
Now, I haven’t played it myself, but this Reddit thread was brought to my attention and reveals that a lot of people are having issues with the game. The biggest problem seems to be when you go into the matchmaking option and the game throws you into a 6v4 match when you clearly should be doing 5v5. Also, apparently they’re putting people into huge maps with 100-kill scenarios… and starting them out with standard machine guns and no vehicles or sniper rifles.
At least, that’s what happened to this dude who felt compelled to share his frustration with The Master Chief Collection on his YouTube channel. As you’ll see in the clip, he can’t stop laughing at the fact that he’s in a 6v4 match on such a huge map and with such little firepower. He also wrote the following message with his upload:
Don’t get me wrong, I love Halo. But this is the worst launch of any game I think I’ve ever seen. LOL. Let’s hope they fix it, because this could be an amazing game. This was me, before I rage quit mid game and turned off the MCC for a little while.
To be fair, the team at 343 (the makers of the remastered package) is working on fixing these issues. According to a blog post from last night, they are fully aware of the problems in matchmaking and the game overall, and they even rolled out some server updates this morning. They noted that they’re also happy that people are sharing the problems they’re facing, which they hope to fix soon. Here’s hopin’.
Purchase Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Amazon if you dare!
