How many of these Sega/SNES rom hacks have I done? Not enough, apparently. This one looks at a bootleg version of Super Mario World on the Sega Genesis alongside the real version on the SNES. I’ve touched on the difference between both consoles in terms of sound but this demonstrates how different it’d be if SMW was a SEGA game. Thankfully, it wasn’t (officially).
That said, it looks almost identical. There appears to be some lag on the Genesis for jumping and running and some colour differences on the bootleg version. If you want to play it for yourself, I’m sure you can find it on Google (it’s called Super Mario World 64).
