How to Trade From Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow To Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire

Most entranced Pokemon trainers gained consciousness when Ruby and Sapphire was released in 2003. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard the phrase “there are too many Pokémon now, I remember when there were just 150″. I used to think that too but I’ve grown accustomed to the breadth of the Pokémon world. Amongst us are players who want to trade their original RBY Pokémon to the new games – for nostalgic purposes.

Lord knows if I’d kept the saves I had, I’d have the greatest Blastoise in the world today. But it’s widely known you can’t trade any Pokémon from Generation I/II (that’s Red/Blue/Yellow and Gold/Silver/Crystal) up to Generation III (Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald) and further.

Until now.

Gamer and comic book nerd Lewis Lovhaug released a video showing how it could be done. You’ll need some accessories and software (and the money to buy them) but given enough patience, you can get your cute little Pikachu from Yellow into the new games.

Stream the “how to” video below.
