I’ve written about my exploits in competitive Pokémon (see: The most unreal VGC match of my career). But one thing that halts my progression is what YouTuber and Pokémon player Xerche calls ‘ladder anxiety’. In the above video, he explains what this means and how to deal with it. He focuses mainly on Showdown but the general idea works for the official ladder as well. Someday, I will learn to deal with that anxiety and play with more freedom. Whether I’ll stop tilting altogether is another story though!
