Anbernic’s latest vertical handheld is the RG 477V and the specs are pretty good with a 4.7-inch (the same used in the RG 476H and the RG Slide), a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chipset, 8GB RAM and 128GB or 12GB RAM and 256GB, and a 5500mAh battery (full specs are on their website)
TechDweeb spoke very highly of it in the above video and it looks like the perfect vertical companion to Anbernic’s RG 476H (which I have and love). If you don’t already have a vertical handheld and want something in that form factor that can play everything up to about PS2 and Gamecube and maybe a bit of Switch, this might be for you.
As for whether it’s the best vertical handheld right now, AYANEO might have something to say about that after announcing the AYANEO Pocket VERT as well as its predecessor, the Pocket DMG. Oh, and Retroid’s Pocket Classic. I’ll be back if any of the retro gaming YouTubers do a comparison video.
