Due to the first Pokémon games releasing in different years in different territories, there have been multiple anniversaries for the franchise. But this one is the official birthday.
The Pokémon Company is celebrating the franchise’s 25th anniversary this year and they’ve released a trailer.

This one goes out to everyone who started out catching Pokémon…but ended up catching feelings instead. We’re kicking off our 25th anniversary celebration by taking a walk down memory lane!
It’s very cute and covers all the nostalgia of the first games, right up to Pokémon Sword and Shield. And there’s something else at the end: a collaboration with Katy Perry!
Expect more big names to get involved with #Pokémon25 and merch because of course.
