Amiibo (stylised as amiibo, plural also amiibo) are small figurines that connect with a variety of Nintendo consoles via NFC to interact with specific games. amiibo launched in 2014 and Nintendo has sold 39 million amiibo toys and more than 30 million Amiibo cards as of 2016 (via).
