It’s phenomenal to think that a game like Tetris can still break records and achieve new heights, four decades after it took the world by storm. But here we are and this breakthrough is a big one—the first ever double Level 39 super killscreen in a competition game between Alex T and TommyNTG. That competition was the April 2023 Mega Masters Event, which was apparently the largest biggest Classic Tetris event ever, and the game in question was the final. aGameScout broke the game down in the above video and it’s worth watching even if you’re not a huge Tetris fan (although I’d be shocked if you’d not played or even thought about it by now).
