Limitations can provide the perfect breeding ground for inspiration. The wonders of 8-bit music in the Pokémon games were the subject of Charles Cornell’s video from last April. He dissected a couple of songs, notably the National Park theme from Gold/Silver/Crystal which somehow brought me to tears when he started playing it on his piano and embellished it further.
