Pokémon speedrunning is a fertile gaming land as challengers vie for the fastest completion time. But that only means beating the Elite Four or Red or whomever is the “final boss”. There are some runs that involve “catching them all” and we’re talking hours there. But what 100% completion—all items, every trainer beaten and a full Pokédex? YouTuber ChuVsMe attempted that challenge with a view to set his own world record in Pokémon Red & Blue.
I can’t remember how many times I’ve played and replayed the Gen 1 games but I’ve never thought of 100% completion. In fact, I only just completed a Pokédex for the first time in 24 years in Sword/Shield. That’s what I get for not having friends and/or friends who had the same games I did.
