I had no idea about this game but it covers two things I enjoyed as a kid: Disney and skateboarding games. Disney’s Extreme Skate Adventure was released in 2003 and developed by Toys for Bob [archived] and published by Activision for GameCube, PlayStation 2 and Xbox. A different company called Vicarious Visions ported it to the GBA. It was the first of its kind to put Disney characters in a skateboarding game and it used Neversoft’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 game engine to great effect.
You could play as Ryan Holleran or Mallie Ann Torres (two IRL child skaters), a variety of Disney characters including ones from Toy Story, Tarzan and The Lion King, or you could create your own human skater. There were three main modes:
- Adventure – where you do skate challenges across three different worlds
- Free Skate – where you can skate freely without the challenges
- Versus – where two players compete against each other
The game received favourable reviews when released and you can watch a playthrough video above.
