‘Saturn Devouring His Son’ is a painting by the Spanish artist Francisco Goya, and it depicts the Roman god Saturn (or Cronus in Greek mythology) eating one of his children after being told that one of them would overthrow him. It’s a gruesome but iconic image of a deadbeat dad (who got his comeuppance if you read the rest of the story) and modern artist Cat Graffam recreated it in Mario Paint.
The results are incredible, given the fact it’s Mario Paint and the amount of time and effort that went into it—which cannot be overstated.
