Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen were the first remakes created by Game Freak back in 2004, as a means for trainers to trade Kanto and Johto Pokémon to their Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald carts and actually complete their Pokédexes (feel free to read this Redditor’s rant on the matter).
