Pokémon Black and White were the first games of Generation V, released in Japan on 18th September 2010, Europe on 4th March 2011, North America on 6th March 2011, and Australia on 10th March 2011. There are two main commercials in the above video. The first one did away with any legendaries stomping around their terrain, opting for pure gameplay, while the second one opened with Reshiram and Zekrom in all their draconian glory.
I remember hating Black and White back in the day. There were all these new Pokémon, no access to the old ones, and I found it so hard to complete. In fact, I had to restart my decade-old save during lockdown because I couldn’t get through the Elite Four. But the second playthrough was significantly better, notably because I followed a speedrun to get to the end quicker (although I had an actual team to fly through it with). And then I beat the Elite Four and could finally trade Pokémon from the past.
