A book about Game Boy box art? Gimme gimme gimme!
Bitmap Books is publishing Game Boy: The Box Art Collection, a 372-page tome filled with the best GB artwork and commentary from collectors.
Whether you’re an old-school Game Boy fan, or discovering the wonders of Nintendo’s million-selling portable system for the very first time, Game Boy: The Box Art Collection is the book for you – it’s a vibrant celebration of some of the finest cover artwork for this monochrome marvel, which kick-started the handheld games industry.
There are three versions:
- The regular version
- The Silver version – housed in a metallic silver card box and an exclusive cover by Wil Overton
- The Gold version – housed in a metallic gold card box and an exclusive cover by Wil Overton
All the favourites are featured including games from Japan and the West but I’m mostly here for the Japanese box art because it’s vastly superior in my opinion (even the size of the box is better).
To buy the Game Boy: The Box Art Collection and view the full list of the featured, head to the Bitmap Books website.
Update: unfortunately, the Gold version is sold out so grab the Silver version while stocks last!
