
That’s right, I said it. For too long, we’ve been told that smoothed out pixel shaders are the way to go when playing emulators. They’re often described as “upscaled” or “HD” and I think they look bad.
I get that people want an enhanced experience and don’t want pixels, and other people want a more authentic experience with the pixels. But the middle ground looks weird and inconsistent.
If you want realism, play a proper 3D game. Don’t force it onto 8 and 16-bit graphics.
