I get it: you’re seeing everyone hyped for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The memes are memeing, the reviews are reviewing, but you feel… nothing. Okay, maybe not nothing. It’s kinda FOMO but not for the game—perhaps you wish you could feel that hype in general but Zelda doesn’t do it for you. I get it. So I’m here to say: there ain’t no shame in not playing Tears of the Kingdom.
Play whatever you want to play and don’t let peer pressure make you spend £60 or whatever it costs in your region on a game you’ll play for 5 minutes and never see again. I speak from experience as I played maybe an hour of Breath of the Wild and haven’t touched it since (it was a present and I suppose I can go back to it one day). Gaming is part of your leisure time so make yourself comfortable and play something else.
